TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
PITHUBAR GIRLS DEGREE COLLEGE,KHOWANG
The Transport Management Committee of Pithubar Girls Degree College ,khowang was formed in 8th December 2021 as per the order of the Government of Assam and Directorate of Higher Education.The aim of the committee was formed to look into those students who possess two wheelers and four wheelers and use them as a mood of communication to the college and need to submit the details of the vehicle along with supporting documents including upto date insurance and driving licence . The documentation is required as a part of road safety awareness programme as ordered by the Government of Assam. The duties of the committee include collection of documents from the students of the college with regard to their vehicles and promoting the use of helmets while riding any two wheelers and maintaining and following the road safety rules and regulations.
The Committee always alert the students within a week in starting the classes in every semester since its inception in the following manners:
- Always wear a seatbelt or helmet
- Avoid distraction
- Don’t cross the speed limit
- Service your car/bike regularly
- Follow traffic signals
- Be careful during bad weather
- Maintain a safe distance
- Overtake from the right
- Give way for emergency vehicles
- Maintain lane distance
